3. How does the procedure before the National Commission for Employee Inventions work?
3.1 How do I contact the CNIS?
The matter may be referred to the CNIS at any time by the employee, the employer or both, by means of a simple request, which may be filed with the Secretariat of the Commission nationale des inventions de salariés or sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt (article R. 615-12 of Code de la propriété intellectuelle ).
Given the implications of such a referral, it is obviously advisable to proceed by registered letter.
