5. Prove database breaches

5.1 Traps and digital tattooing

Certain measures, even if they do not restrict the use of the database, will be particularly effective in establishing proof of extraction or illicit use in the event of litigation.

It is therefore advisable to introduce booby-trapped data, i.e. erroneous or misleading data, into your databases. This may involve false information, deliberately different spelling, grammatical errors or non-existent references, dummy e-mail addresses, and so on.

The identical use of this trapped data by an unauthorized third party will make it possible to prove the extraction without any possible dispute.
