7. Glossary

Trend

A formal or technical evolution driven by a cross-sectoral trend that positions a product in the obsolescence cycle. The properties of a trend are its dynamic nature, its spatial and temporal scope, and its degree of social and cultural acceptance.

Area of influence

Any sector related to the sector under study that integrates product attributes (shape, color, use, texture...) that can be transferred as new references in the sector under study, and that translates the target values of consumers while meeting the specifications.

Biomorphism

An analogical reasoning process that draws on sources of inspiration from the natural world and translates them into the design of new solutions.
