1. Identify sectors of influence

Trend diffusion is based on the transfer of formal, functional or technical attributes from related sectors into your industry. Identifying sectors of influence is therefore a fundamental step in trend analysis. We define sectors of influence as all source sectors that enable the transfer of formal or functional attributes into your sector.

The first step in trend analysis is therefore to identify the areas of influence from which sources of information can be directly extracted. These sources are essentially words or images, but also objects, interfaces, sounds, fragrances, technologies...
