6.1 Don't overlook standards

Communicating LCA results, particularly comparative ones, to the general public or to customers can only be achieved if the study has been carried out in full compliance with the relevant ISO standards. Even if the requirements of the latter are sometimes restrictive, compliance with them guarantees the scientific validity of the results, and can enable advanced environmental communication in line with the ISO 14020 series of standards (environmental labelling).
