12.1 Monitor your competitors' patent granting processes

The time limit for filing opposition after publication of the grant of a French patent in the GNI is very short. As a result, it is advisable to be particularly vigilant and to monitor the patent granting process of your competitors.

To this end, the EPO has made available a monitoring tool, which enables you to configure the sending of computer alerts as soon as a new event concerning a patent is entered in the European Patent Register.

INPI is also expected to deploy such a monitoring tool in the near future.
