5. I want to file an opposition against a French patent. How can I proceed?

The filing of an opposition against a French patent, as well as subsequent exchanges between the opponent and the owner of the contested patent, must be carried out in electronic form on the INPI website via portail de l’opposition brevet in PDF ( portable document format ) files.

Communications between the opposing party and the patent owner (patentee) are generally carried out through their respective agents.

The date of receipt of the opposition application at INPI is the effective date for payment of the opposition fee. This fee has been set at 600 euros by arrêté du 6 mars 2020 relatif...
