3. Identify public funding

Public support for innovation can take a variety of forms:

  • financial assistance ;

  • tax breaks ;

  • exemptions from social security contributions ;

  • tax incentives for innovation.

They can also come from various national and European sources.

3.1 Financial assistance

Financial assistance can take the form of equity financing schemes such as Nacre (Nouvel accompagnement pour la création et la reprise d'entreprise), a zero-interest, no-guarantee loan for jobseekers or recipients of minimum social benefits (1,000 to 8,000 euros).
