There are three types of deposit:
legal ;
constituting rights ;
probationary period.
1.1 Legal deposit
This is the obligation imposed on all publishers, printers, producers and distributors to deposit a copy of the documents or elements they publish, print, produce and distribute with the organization authorized to receive them (in particular, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the CNC and INA). The legal deposit obligation applies in particular to written publications, software packages, databases, sound, audiovisual and multimedia documents.
