6. Technology watch and intelligence

Developing a dynamic state of the art requires an activity that goes beyond monitoring. According to former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, 90% of all data has been produced in the last two years. If, a few years ago, we could still say "data is new gold", this resource has become very commonplace. However, only 1% of this mass is analyzed. The new gold is probably data that has been constructed, merged and distilled, and this is the task of technological intelligence. This activity, which is vital to RDI, is also undergoing far-reaching change as a result of this abundance of mostly unstructured information.
