4. Our advice

4.1 Consider the race against time

  • Monitor and anticipate changes in standards. Standards and disruptive innovations are events that can occur and call into question a sector's entire business model. They must be taken into account, anticipated and not neglected.

  • Use limitation and protection periods. Time limits are a weapon. You have to know how to use them and not let them slip away.

  • Think of randomness as a variable to be taken into account when filing for a patent. Patent filing is not an exact science. You need to know all the ins and outs to avoid the pitfalls. Get help and recognize your limits to make progress.
