6. Our advice

  • You should be aware that this type of Excel spreadsheet is only as good as the information you enter into it over time (relevance, completeness and reactive updating). Don't hesitate to modify its structure, especially at the start of your monitoring. So, if a column remains empty, it's because it's not adapted to the information you wanted to put in it: modify it, or delete it.

Similarly, if a field requires too much explanation in free text, it may need to be split into several fields (think of the date field as an example).

  • Make a note of the units in which the figures are to be entered at the head of each column, and make conversions systematically as you type (the help of a convertisseur d’unités...
