4. Set up an automated watch on LinkedIn

It's easy to track profiles, pages or hashtags within the LinkedIn platform. On the other hand, it's far less easy to generate feeds from LinkedIn content for aggregation in an automated intelligence platform like Inoreader.

To extract content from LinkedIn, you can resort to "scraping", i.e. IT methods consisting in retrieving data from a web page in order to reuse it. Rather technical in nature, scraping solutions are developed in Python. Pay-per-use turnkey solutions are also available for scraping LinkedIn.

In the United States, a lengthy legal battle pitted LinkedIn against the company hiQ, which performs predictive analysis on public content extracted from the professional network.
