4. Standards available to manufacturers
The Order of June 24, 2014 requires manufacturers of herbal food supplements to meet strict quality control. To this end, they have access to authoritative references in the field of plants: the pharmacopoeias.
4.1 Pharmacopoeia principles
Pharmacopoeias are regulatory works containing criteria for the purity of raw materials, methods of analysis to ensure their control, and descriptions of the therapeutic properties of medicinal plants (as well as plant, animal and chemical substances). These works are authoritative in the country in which they are written.
