10.1 Cell therapy

Tissue engineering and cell therapy are emerging disciplines that combine the use of biomaterials and cell biology to repair or regenerate biological tissues. The principle is based on the development of a polymeric network to support the growth of cells and/or bio-active molecules to build a tissue with characteristics close to those of the original tissue, in order to repair or renew damaged tissue.
