The multiplicity of products and processes that need to be traced, in order to comply with the various regulations of the French public health and social security codes, has given rise to a number of tools that enable complete and effective traceability in well-targeted areas: drugs, medical devices... However, these tools are generally not connected to each other, and the hospital information system, which is often outdated and initially focused on budgetary issues, does not easily integrate them into the computerized patient file. In the absence of a unique patient identifier, it is difficult for hospitals to exchange information with each other and with outpatients. Increasingly medicalized computerization requires secure access and continuity of service.
