The whole world knows about double-decker buses, black-cabs and the Tube. Even those who have never been to London will be familiar with the English capital's iconic public transport systems. All these modes of transport are managed by TfL (Transport For London). It is the largest public transport authority in Great Britain, and one of the largest in the world. It is organized into three branches. London Underground manages the London Underground (the Tube). London Rail manages a number of rail links, both within London and in the city's suburbs. Finally, the authority also manages surface transport, such as buses, waterways, cycle paths, traffic, congestion charging, cabs, Victoria bus station and urban freight.
