6. Conclusions and outlook

The use of UAVs, or more precisely UAV systems, is spreading throughout Europe and the rest of the world, due to the sheer number and diversity of operations they can help to carry out. Their acquisition cost varies widely, depending on the size of the airborne vehicle and the level of safety required. The UAVs available on the market range in weight from a few dozen grams to around ten tonnes, and depending on their capabilities, they can operate throughout the airspace, from the ground to altitudes of several tens of kilometers.

This article is dedicated to the safe use of UAV systems operating in the altitude range between ground level and 500 feet, where the market for these machines is the most buoyant today.
