3. Why use a histogram?
A die can produce a 1, a 2, a 3, a 4, a 5 or a 6 without the observer being able to say with any certainty what value it will produce on a throw. By observing the results of throws of a die, we obtain a sample of values that the die can produce. This is referred to as a sample size . The graph containing the random information of interest in this sample is the histogram.
