7. Mistakes to avoid

7.1 Don't overlook the importance of specific training

Some areas of physics, and therefore metrology, require highly specialized basic training. This is the case for electricity, and more specifically for high-frequency electrical metrology. You should therefore avoid offering a mechanic or thermic a short training course in metrology in the field of microwave frequencies, for example; his basic knowledge would certainly not be sufficient to make him a good metrologist in this field.
