2. The PIXE technique

First, let's summarize some basic concepts. Technical details can be found in journals such as [1] .

2.1 Principles

The PIXE method (Particle-induced X-Ray Emission) was first reported as an analytical method in 1970 in Lund, Sweden [2] . The first article described the analysis of ambient aerosols. Since then, the PIXE technique has developed rapidly, and in just a few years has become an essential tool for powerful multi-element analysis.
