3. Instruments for close-up objects

3.1 Basic instrument: the viewfinder

The purpose of an optical finder is to observe objects located at a short distance from the instrument. In figure 13 , A is the point of the object field located on the optical axis of the viewfinder. The image, given by the Ob converging objective, lies at A′, behind the F′ image focus. The position on the axis and the magnifications are easily calculated using the conjugation relations (3) ,
