1. Transitions in question

Since the turn of the 2010s, the term "transition" has been widely used in various forms in the media, politics, education, academia, and economics. Demographic, energy, ecological, digital, social, economic, and industrial transitions refer to the structural transformations that Western societies need to undergo in order to combat the damage caused by interdependent ecological, climatic, social, economic, and political phenomena, which have been brought about by the Western model of development through the unlimited exploitation of the planet's finite resources. On the institutional side, transitions are reflected in international, national, and regional strategies. On the other hand, conceptual approaches refer to the interfaces between ecological and socio-economic systems
