8.1 Notion of traceability
The term "traceability" first appeared in the regulatory context at the end of 1996, in the wake of the "mad cow" crisis, and in response to consumers' expectations that the origin of products should be verified and displayed
Traceability is the ability to trace the history, use or location of an entity by means of recorded identifications
