It's common to equate the term "technical" with "technological", but these notions are not the same. It is therefore important to understand the difference between "technique" and "technology":

  • The term technique is defined as all the processes and methods of an art, craft or industry. The technical approach concerns physical processes.

  • The term technology is defined as a body of knowledge and practice based on scientific principles in a technical field. The technological approach concerns implementation methods or procedures.
