6. Conclusion

Drawing up a declaration file is a relatively straightforward procedure (compared with drawing up an authorization file, for example). It also takes much less time to complete (an average of one year for an authorization file, compared with between two weeks and two months for a declaration), and has been reduced since the introduction of the online declaration service.

However, we must not lose sight of the fact that the declaration receipt is an essential component of the building permit. Particular care must be taken when drawing up the file, as incomplete or erroneous declarations are inadmissible, and may lead to a reprehensible failure to declare, with consequences for all the steps taken to commission the installation. Particular attention must be paid to the drawing of plans, and to respecting scales in particular.
