1. Identification of facilities subject to declaration

The nomenclature of classified facilities is set out in the appendix to article R. 511-9 of the French Environment Code.

In the early stages of a project, the future operator must therefore make an inventory of activities, hazardous products and equipment in order to check whether his facilities fall under one or more nomenclature headings and, depending on the thresholds, determine the administrative regime applicable to his facilities (figure 1 ).
