5. Cessation of activity
As far as cessation of activity is concerned, the provisions of the Environmental Code applicable to facilities subject to authorization are equally applicable to facilities subject to registration. Any cessation of activity must therefore be declared to the prefect. The applicable procedures are defined in articles R. 512-46-25 et seq. of the Environment Code. Article 57 of the ASAP law (law no. 2020-1525 of December 7, 2020 on the acceleration and simplification of public action) stipulates that "The operator shall have a company certified in the field of polluted sites and soils, or with equivalent skills in the provision of services in this field, attest to the implementation of measures relating to safety, as well as to the suitability of the measures proposed for site remediation, and then to the implementation of the latter".
