3.1 The prefect and his departments

The various administrative departments consulted during the procedure are listed above. Depending on the nature of the planned activities and the sensitivity of the environment, some of these departments should be given priority and contacted in particular when preparing the application before it is submitted. For example, in the case of :

• an activity that releases air or aqueous effluents into the natural environment, or generates noise in an urbanized area: the health and environment department of the Agence régionale de santé (ARS);
