Odors and air legislation

As we saw in the introduction, odor problems have been taken into account in regulatory texts for many years. However, to limit our presentation to current situations to which the engineer in charge of a study may be subject, we will only present and detail recent regulatory texts (second half of the 20th century):

• the law of August 2, 1961 on the fight against olfactory pollution and odors allows the legislator to regulate odor emissions and gives judges the power to impose penalties in the event of non-compliance;
