 INTRODUCTION

Drawing up an inventory will enable you to determine the extent of the sources and assess the consequences of pollution.

In the case of a site in operation, this study will enable you to :

  • check whether there is any incompatibility with current uses in the vicinity of the site;

  • serve as the basis for a possible management plan if uses are deemed incompatible, or if there are uncertainties regarding the risk of incompatibility.

In the case of a site to be redeveloped, the study will make it possible to :

  • provide the basis for further studies and a management plan for the redevelopment of the site;

  • check whether there is any incompatibility with current uses in the vicinity of the site.

This fact sheet will guide you through the stages of an initial diagnosis, and explain the main expectations of such a study.
