1. Influence of product properties on ignition probability
Not all products have the same propensity to ignite. Among the intrinsic properties of products, there are three to be aware of:
flash point (FP) ;
minimum ignition energy (MIE);
minimum ignition temperature (TAI).
1.1 What is the flash point?
The PE corresponds to the temperature at which a liquid gives off enough vapors to form a flammable mixture with air, which can be ignited by a flame or spark of sufficient energy. PE is used to characterize the flammability of flammable liquids. The lower the PE of a product, the more flammable it is.
