The public prosecutor plays an important role in criminal liability. He is a magistrate charged with defending the interests of the community and the application of the law.

In this capacity, he receives complaints from victims and denunciations from third parties. He also receives a copy of the reports drawn up by the inspector in charge of ICPE inspections.

It decides what action to take.
