3. Check that uses are covered

The first thing to do when you receive an SDSe is to check whether your uses are covered.

To do this, base yourself on the uses identified by your manufacturer and/or importer. These uses are generally described in the form of a combination of REACh code and phrase. Depending on how you have identified your uses, you will use one of the two pieces of information.

You will find this information here:

  • in sections 1.2 or 16 of the SDS for uses in the form of REACh codes identified in ECHA guides ( Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment – Chapter R12: use description ).

  • at the beginning of each scenario in the appendices for the summarized sentences.
