Analysis

Analysis is the interpretation of the measurements taken, and the analysis method may be defined by standards (e.g. for aqueous discharges).

In some cases, these measurements and analyses must be carried out by an approved organization.

Emergence (noise)

According to arrêté du 23 janvier 1997 , emergence is defined as "the difference between the equivalent continuous A-weighted pressure levels of ambient noise (establishment in operation) and residual noise in the absence of noise generated by the establishment...".
