6.1 Simulation

Simulating the filling and cooling of microplasturgy parts is perfectly feasible with the best software on the market, as today's computers allow high-precision calculations. However, certain rules must be observed:

  • no compromise on geometric details (ribs, fillets) and thicknesses (especially draft);

  • imperative modeling of the feed channel (due to the part mass/molded mass ratio) ;

  • influence of cooling channels considered negligible (part/mould ratio) ;

  • strict monitoring of the shear stresses applied to the polymer.
