4. OECD Test No. 429: Skin Sensitization Test: Local Lymph Node Assay (LLNA) in Mice
The LLNA test is based on the principle that sensitizers induce lymphocyte proliferation in the lymph nodes draining the site of application of the test substance. This proliferation is proportional to the dose applied and the potency of the allergen. It provides an easy way to obtain a quantitative measure of sensitization.
4.1 Induction
Days 1, 2, and 3: Apply 25 μl of an appropriate dilution of the test substance, vehicle alone, or TP to the back of each ear.
