2. Define your subcontractor and temporary worker management policy
To what extent can you and do you want to manage your subcontractors and temps?
For example, do you want to apply the same policy to 100% of your subcontractors and 100% of your temps? Or, for example, based on Pareto's law logic, would you like to implement a specific policy for the 20% of subcontractors and 20% of temporary workers (or temporary employment agencies) who have an impact on 80% of activities at risk, who represent 80% of subcontracted sales, etc.?
In all cases, it is strongly recommended to apply a risk-based approach, and to ensure stricter monitoring of external contractors involved in high-risk activities, even if they represent a small proportion of your sales. This is particularly true of contractors who come into contact with hazardous chemicals.
