2. Different load commands
This equipment allows the combustion engine load to be controlled via two types of commands:
a mechanical control (throttle actuator);
an electronic control (electronic accelerator pedal).
Mechanical controls are the most commonly used systems and act directly on the physical components of the vehicle. Currently, with injection controlled by electronic engine control units, these systems are connected to the only remaining mechanical component, namely the pedal in the passenger compartment (or the potentiometer that controls it). In the past, this equipment was connected directly to the mechanical injection pump or the throttle valve.
The most widely used technologies all consist of an electric motor, either rotary or linear.
