2. Technical definition of containers

2.1 HA waste storage containers

The solution presented in 2005 to assess the feasibility of geological disposal of HA waste consists of an individual unalloyed steel overpack with a minimum thickness of 55 mm (figure 5 ) [4] . This container comprises a body and a lid made of the same material. Once the primary package has been inserted into the body, the lid is welded to the body in full thickness.
