6. Conclusion
The safe, reliable and economical operation of France's nuclear power plants is all the more important given that they generate over 80% of the electricity consumed in the country.
To meet these objectives, plant chemistry and radiochemistry play an important role:
by controlling the risk of corrosion of the various materials used in the plant's components;
by minimizing dosimetry;
optimizing the release of chemicals and radiochemicals into the environment.
Such operation, in a context of impeccable safety, requires appropriate monitoring of chemical and radiochemical parameters, while ensuring the highest possible availability and acceptable operating costs.
