9. Abbreviations and Acronyms

  • DAC: Direct Air Capture. A technology for capturing CO 2 directly from the atmosphere, which is essential for producing truly carbon-neutral e-fuels.

  • e-SAF: electro-sustainable aviation fuel. Synthetic jet fuel produced via the power-to-liquid process.

  • FT: Fischer-Tropsch. A long-established chemical process for synthesizing hydrocarbons from synthesis gas (CO + H 2 ). It is a key route for the production of PtL.

  • PtG: power-to-gas. The production of gas (hydrogen, synthetic methane) from electricity.

  • PtL: power-to-liquid. The production of liquid fuels (e-diesel, e-kerosene) from electricity.
