1. Identify processes for the production of synthetic fuels

There are three key steps in the production of synthetic fuels

1.1 Producing green hydrogen

To achieve this, an electrolysis process must be selected that allows water (H 2 O) to be broken down into hydrogen (H 2 ) and oxygen (O 2 ) under the influence of an electric current. The choice must be made among electrolyzer technologies such as alkaline electrolysis (mature technology, moderate cost), PEM (proton exchange membrane) (more compact, better reactivity), and high-temperature electrolysis (better energy efficiency).
