7. Mistakes to avoid

7.1 Don't delay: switch now to HFO or natural refrigerants

Stay on top of your F Gas obligations. Owners of refrigeration plants have a number of responsibilities in terms of equipment management, including leak testing, qualification of subcontractors and record keeping. Don't overlook these obligations!

Regulatory constraints do not formally prohibit the use of HFCs, but the risk of a shortage of these fluids as a result of "phase down" could generate major additional costs for plant maintenance. Replacing them with recent technologies not only allows the adoption of refrigerants not covered by F Gas regulations, but also generates significant energy gains through improved EER and ESEER values.
