6. Conclusion

The new version of EN 1090-2 confirms the value of such a publication. It provides real added value by allowing unrivalled flexibility in proving compliance with the requirements set out in the written documents.

Although the operational and quantified aspects of the standard are primarily of interest to metal fabricators, its approach needs to be shared by the various players involved, in order to exploit the possibilities offered by the modulation and gradation of requirements and the tools proposed, in the best interests of efficiency and savings.

However, it is not always easy to use, and requires a transversal knowledge of operations to avoid redundancy.
