INTRODUCTION
Precast concrete products specifically designed for the building industry are described in previous reports
The following is an overview of the industrial products that supply the :
sanitation (pipes, manholes, connection or inspection boxes, etc.);
purification (septic tank, etc.) ;
roads (kerbs, pavers and slabs for flooring, street furniture, etc.).
Other value-added products, some of which are relatively recent, are geared to environmental concerns (e.g. acoustic screens, separators, etc.), to improving safety (e.g. aqueduct heads) or to building networks (e.g. telecoms chambers, utility poles).
In terms of tonnage, this represents 26.5% of the concrete industry's total production (i.e. just over 8 million tonnes in 2005), or 38% of the sector's total sales.
Lastly, other product families meet a wide range of needs in sectors not directly related to construction or public works: these include fencing, agricultural products, retaining walls, vaults, etc.
