In-plant recycling is applicable to all types of pavement materials. Hot bitumen recycling techniques have reached maturity. Asphalt mixes containing a proportion of recycled asphalt behave entirely satisfactorily, even over the long term.
Emulsion recycling also gives excellent results, but this sector is still in a phase of evolution and innovation.
Tepid recycling, which is still in its infancy, is a promising avenue for the future, and one that needs to be carefully monitored.
Recycling with hydraulic binders should not be forgotten, as they can provide interesting specific solutions.
Finally, the importance of recycling will only increase in the future, as raw materials become more expensive and (fortunately) more attention is paid to the environment.
