7. Conclusion

Ventilation, whether natural or mechanical, is essential to ensure good-quality indoor air. Its priority is to satisfy needs for hygiene and comfort, and its aim is to supply fresh air to avoid confinement and enable combustion appliances to work properly, and to evacuate air contaminated by various pollutants, and to combat humidity and condensation.

The 2020 Thermal Regulations (RT 2020) will aim to produce positive energy buildings (BEPOS), which means we'll be moving from energy-efficient buildings to ones that generate more energy than they consume.
