 INTRODUCTION

This article is the logical continuation of the section on the construction and operation of DC machines. The following presentation, much more technological than the previous one, is divided into several distinct parts.

It begins with armature design techniques, followed by the inductor. Auxiliary poles are then discussed, followed by various dimensioning elements. Techniques specific to wound and magnet inductors are presented in the text as required. A general overview of the questions facing the designer is presented, without detailing every aspect of machine design.
