6. Conclusion and summary

In the coming years, many challenges will have to be met to take full advantage of the benefits of using electrical energy (reversible actuators, high efficiency, compatibility with renewable energies, etc.).

Today, this need has led to a large increase in demand for devices based on the integration of power electronics. Controlling the reliability of these functional blocks is a prerequisite for secure management of electrical energy flows in the system.

As a result, professionals, particularly in the transport sector, are obliged to offer systems qualified for long service life, while keeping the costs associated with mass production under control. This last point calls into question conventional methods of estimating service life.
